Promises Kept and More to Keep!
In the three short years as your commissioner and public servant I have made promises to you to ensure your quality of life remains intact and improve our fine city. I have listed below some of my accomplishments as well as continued initiatives for our district.
- Birch Finger Streets residential parking program.
- Beach Re-Nourishment.
- New entry point for the boat parade
- Undergrounding and landscaping 33rd Avenue and north A1A.
- Raised the standards for future development.
- Zoning in Progress and Barrier Island Comprehensive Master Plan, continually voted against the giveaway of public land on the Barrier Island.
- Established a business Improvement district (BID) which provides the Holiday Lights and Sidewalk cleaning on the Barrier Island.
- Worked with FDOT to acquire a $3.2 million dollars to be used for beach improvements.
- Three successful boat shows & Clean Marina award for the Las Olas Marina.
- South Beach Parking lot improvements & Lifeguards north beach.
- Storm water study for low laying areas, undergrounding of utilities by neighborhoods, street raising for high tide areas and drainage issues.
- Neighborhood Master Plans, new zoning category, new Sunrise pool provider & Round About redesign improvements.
- Historic House relocated & several open space acquisitions with County funding obtained.
- 13th Street business Group restructured.
- Increase wattage for street lights, streetscapes & street closures.
- Conducted monthly district and crime meetings.
- Stonewall Library and Archives relocated ensuring Art Serve and Broward County Library at Sunrise Blvd. remains intact.
- Noise and Foreclosure ordinances.
- Scheduled (CVC) Citizen Volunteer Corp. project throughout district neighborhoods providing cleanup volunteers.
